Welcome to Glendale Periodontics & Dental Implants! Your home for healthy gums, a happy smile
Glendale Periodontics & Dental Implants understands that you can’t have healthy teeth and an appealing smile without healthy gums! As a board-certified periodontist, Dr. Tyler Hendry specializes in preventing, diagnosing, treating, and managing conditions that affect the gums – including gum disease. Periodontists like Dr. Hendry also support the health of the bone and other tissues and structures that surround, stabilize, and protect the teeth. He also sets the standard when it comes to rebuilding the jawbone and replacing teeth with implants.
Specialty care that shines in Southern California
Since we focus on periodontics and implants only, our skill and experience with caring for the gums and the supportive bone and tissues is second to none. Whether you are struggling with painful gums or are looking for a long-term solution to gaps in your smile, rest assured that Dr. Hendry has the advanced training and experience to restore your comfort, health, function, and appearance.
Specialty practices, such as ours, also invest in best-in-class technologies. These technologies complement our team’s expertise, promoting both precise treatment and exceptional outcomes, while ensuring the most pleasant, convenient, efficient, and comfortable experience at our office. We combine considerable knowledge with sophisticated technologies to:
- Place dental implants – Many patients from across the Glendale area, as well as those referred by other dentists, turn to us when they need implant surgery. The success of implant-supported crowns, bridges, and dentures depends on the skill of the professional applying them. As a specialist in periodontics, Dr. Hendry precisely applies implants in the jawbone. Such precise placement supports implant healing, so it can function as a tooth root to stabilize a single tooth (with a crown), a few teeth (with a bridge), or all teeth (with a denture). No other form of tooth replacement accounts for the roots of the teeth and supports the health of the jawbone, which makes implants a long-lasting and natural alternative to traditional bridges and dentures.
- Treat gum disease with laser technology – At other offices, dentists may use scalpels and traditional tools and techniques to remove tissues damaged by gum disease. At Glendale Periodontics & Dental Implants, Dr. Hendry uses an advanced laser system to target and treat diseased gums without scalpels, invasive cutting, and sutures. As such, this procedure (known as “LANAP®“) is a gentle, minimally invasive, extremely precise, and safe way to kill harmful bacteria, remove irreversibly damaged tissue, and encourage healing.
- Gum and Bone Grafting – Dr. Hendry uses advanced materials, techniques, and technologies to rebuild gums and bone that is lost due to later-stage gum disease and conditions like bone loss/resorption. Not all dental offices have the training or capabilities to perform gum and bone grafts. Dr. Hendry uses microsurgical techniques and the Pinhole® Surgical Technique to treat gum recession and repair gums conservatively and comfortably. When bone is lost due to advanced gum disease or as a result of tooth loss, he may perform bone grafts to rebuild the jawbone and to support successful implant placement.
- Nonsurgical gum disease treatment – Earlier-stage gum disease may be treated without surgery. Dr. Hendry is an expert at the “deep cleaning” service. Routine dental cleanings remove bacteria, plaque, and tartar from the teeth and gumline. Our service, scaling and root planing, cleans deeply below the gumline. Dr. Hendry also smooths rough root surfaces, preventing disease-causing bacteria and plaque from attaching and accumulating in these areas.
- Extract teeth and preserve, and restore bone. Gum disease is a leading cause of tooth loss. And tooth loss hastens the destructive process of bone loss. When the jawbone does not receive stimulation due to tooth loss, it resorbs or shrinks. Dr. Hendry has the knowledge and experience to rebuild lost bone tissue. Bone grafts may also be used to preserve bone in the area, preventing the resorption process (a procedure known as “socket preservation).
Of course, this is just a glimpse into our capabilities and solutions for preserving and restoring healthy gums and a happy smile.
